Unsu...
Well, since I have more than a dozen blogs I clearly prize freedom of speech. However, I also own a business and I totally understand where business is coming from. Statistically, most people (for whatever reason) find it easier to spread all kinds of lies, rumors, inuendo about businesses rather than addressing them directly when they have a problem with a product or service - and some people are just angry that they have to work for someone else because they can't figure out what work to do on their own.
That being said, I also believe that there is a certain percentage of people out there blogging that just want to spew venom as a form of anger management. It has nothing at all to do with the people, places, things that they write about. -

I also find it interesting that while the blogging community is up in arms over this article, if you read it carefully you will note that he does cite references. If you check these out, they are blogs set up specifically to bash particular businesses/journalists, which is a far cry from what most diary bloggers are doing (I hardly think a swipe at Starbucks on my page is going to bring down the company). AND, strangely, most of those "bloggers" cited are right-wing conservatives.
I suspect the angry bloggers may have just skimmed. But it is important for us to know to be on the lookout for anyone who may try to take our blogging rights away from us.
