Is it fair to say that, altough many people still blog, it is no longer "all the rage"?

Re: No Longer All The Rage ?
Thu, June 1, 2006 - 11:13 AMi'm kind of new to blogging, so i can't really say...for me it is all about the words, and having a place to connect verbally with friends and new acquaintances, but i notice the popular blogs seem to be video based. since i don't have digital video capabilities there is just no way i can be all that. but i still enjoy doing what i do know how to do!

Thu, June 1, 2006 - 2:02 PMI wouldn't know, I write mostly for myself. I've never been in a position to know what "all the rage" was...

Re: No Longer All The Rage ?
Thu, June 1, 2006 - 5:52 PMI think it depends on how you look at it. Food blogs are hugely popular right now. I've also seen more journalists and print publications starting blogs. In terms of what people are into reading/viewing online Youtube.com is picking up speed.

Fri, June 2, 2006 - 8:16 PMI think blogs are no longer the "it" topic in the media, but they're here to stay.
I've been blogging now for about 6 years myself. The media interest got me to know of them, but my own interest keeps me at it.

Sat, February 17, 2007 - 9:01 PMI sense some very good minds for this in the world who don't sit at a computer yet. People who can put a subject matter and charm various minds to respond and learn in the process. I find the information much more solid than a chat room. It is all the rage as far as I can see.

Re: No Longer All The Rage ?
Mon, February 19, 2007 - 1:01 AMI think it's been absorbed into the culture.
Things are "all the rage" right before they become public knowledge - when not everyone knows what they are. It's like that new kid at school. He is always really interesting girls giggle about him... and then... after a while, he's just a kid at school. It wares off, but that doesn't mean the kid transfers to another school.
I think Vlogging is of interest - but, frankly, that was really absorbed into YouTube and outside of that was such a fluid transition from blogging that I'm not sure it will ever have the buzz that blogging had.
The saturation level of blogs have reached such an extent now that it's also hard to tell who the stars are and usually buzz requires posterchildren as well.
